Structural Steel — Frequently Asked Questions

What structural steel sections do you supply?

Universal beams (UB), universal columns (UC), parallel flange channels (PFC), equal and unequal angles, flat bar and plate, all to AS/NZS 3679.1 or AS/NZS 3678 in Grade 300 as standard, with Grade 350 available on request.

Is imported structural steel compliant with Australian Standards?

Yes. Every section is manufactured to the relevant AS/NZS standard and ships with a mill test certificate showing heat number, chemistry and mechanical properties, so it can be used in designs to AS 4100 without substitution.

What lengths are available?

Standard stock lengths are 6, 9 and 12 metres for most sections, with cut-to-length available to reduce waste and on-site handling. Longer lengths can be arranged for project quantities.
