Steel lintels are hot-rolled angle or flat bar sections that support brickwork and masonry over door, window and other openings. We supply galvanised steel lintels across the full range of sizes for the cavity and opening width, manufactured to AS/NZS 3679.1 and hot-dip galvanised to AS/NZS 4680 for durability in masonry. Sizes are selected in line with AS 3700 masonry requirements, with material certification provided.

What steel lintels do you supply?
Galvanised angle lintels from 90 × 90 to 150 × 100 mm and flat bar lintels, plus fabricated T-bar lintels for cavity brickwork, all hot-dip galvanised for masonry contact.
How do I size a lintel?
Lintel size depends on the opening width, the masonry load above and whether the wall is single-skin or cavity. Manufacturers' span tables cover standard cases; for anything unusual, an engineer should specify the section.
Why must lintels be galvanised?
Lintels sit in mortar and are exposed to moisture, so hot-dip galvanising to AS/NZS 4680 is required for durability. Black steel lintels rust and stain the brickwork within a few years.
