CHSSteel

Circular hollow sections (CHS) — structural steel pipe for columns, handrails and architectural features.

Circular hollow section (CHS) is cold-formed structural steel pipe with a round profile, used for columns, handrails, architectural features and general structural work. We supply CHS across the full range of nominal bore and outside-diameter sizes, in wall thicknesses to suit, manufactured to AS/NZS 1163 in Grade C350L0. Available black or galvanised with mill test certificates and full traceability.

CHS Steel — Frequently Asked Questions

What CHS sizes do you supply?

Circular hollow sections from 26.9 mm to 508 mm outside diameter in wall thicknesses from 2.0 to 12.7 mm, to AS/NZS 1163 in Grade C250L0 and C350L0.

What is the difference between CHS and pipe?

CHS is a structural hollow section made to AS/NZS 1163 and specified by outside diameter and wall thickness. Pipe is made to pressure or plumbing standards and specified by nominal bore. For structural work, specify CHS.

What is CHS used for?

Columns and posts, trusses and space frames, handrails and balustrades, bollards, piles and architecturally exposed steelwork where a round profile is wanted.
