A C-shaped structural steel section with parallel flanges, used for secondary framing, purlins, and general structural applications.
Parallel flange channels have a C-shaped profile with flanges at right angles to the web. They are commonly used for secondary structural members including purlins, girts, lintels, and edge beams. PFCs are also used as stiffeners, brackets, and in combination with other sections for built-up members. The parallel flanges (as opposed to tapered flanges) simplify connections. Manufactured to AS/NZS 3679.1.
